LIMITED SPRINTCAR STATE TITLE MAY 3RD 2014

4 Wide Feature Line up

Hi to all the last meeting on our calendar has been run and won which was the Limited Sprint car  State Title on 3rd May 2014 it was a great night of racing for all competitors it was unfortunate that the date was changed as we lost four drivers thru work commitments it was a night to remember as the feature went for 20 laps non stop

The programme was time trials by heats and each car was given two heats one with the fastest time trailed car off the rear of each heat and the second heat a reverse grid making the highest point from time trials and the heats off the pole position

Fastest in Time Trials Merv Woolford #81

Time trials fastest Merv Woolford second Brayden Miller and coming third Anthony Gaudio from Geraldton and fourth was Jacob Lucas

Gavin Davis blew his motor, Mark Miller offered Gavin his second car for the night very kind gesture, which gave Gavin the chance to compete instead of watching from the grandstands, The true LSA spirit was in full force when Merv Woolford rolled his car in the first heat destroying his top and front wing and front end, when his car was bought back to the pits everyone was offering him parts and helped in getting his car back together for the feature.

First heat saw John Mongrel Magerl  and Mick Doble off the front it was a great race Merv Woolford coming off the back going though the field picking them off one at a time and coming up to Mick Doble who had lead from the start and Merv was about to pass him but just clipped the rear of his car and rolled quite badly destroying his car leaving Mick Doble to take first and Ben Migro second and Brett Barndon third.

Heat 1 Round 1 Winner Mick Doble

Second heat round one saw Annette Crabbe and Bruce Farquar off the front this was an exciting heat too as Brayden Miller went From the rear right up to the second to follow Todd Davis across the line and Jacob Lucas third
Heat 2 Round 1 Winner Brayden Miller

Second round heat one saw Brayden Miller and Steven Kendall off the front but Brayden took the lead straight away and led till the finish, Blue Stannard all the way from Wickham his night ended  when he hit the wall,  First Brayden Miller with Ben Migro second with Gavin Davis third in a borrowed car
Round 2 Heat 1 Winner Brayden Miller

Blue making sparks fly when he went into the Wall

Last heat of the night saw Anthony Gaudio and Jacob Lucas off the front it was a great race to watch with Jacob Lucas winning this one with Anthony Gaudio second and Brett Barndon third.
Round 2 Heat 2 Winner Jacob Lucas

The feature race saw Brayden Miller with the highest points of the front row and choosing to take the outside with Jacob Lucas first time in history of the LSA we had 2 18year olds on the front row  they all had a great start with Brayden taking the lead straight away, back in the field it was great to see that Merv Woolford had repaired his car there wear quite a few changes back in the field but at the finish after 20 laps of none stop racing we saw Brayden Miller take the Chequed flag to win the event Jacob Lucas second and Mick Doble third.
Presentation were made trackside at Victory Lane, the top 3 were given trophies and sashes, Hard luck for the feature was with Benny Migro his car failed to start due to an electrical problem.

Making Brayden Miller the youngest driver in the club to ever win a Limited State Title and we would like to thank all who have followed the limited Sprintcar association race meetings over the year.

LIMITED SPRINT CAR ASSOCIATION STATE TITLE

Saturday April 26th was set to be the LSA State Title event at Motorplex unfortunately the weather was not favourable with heavy clouds at 1.30 we thought we were going to cop it but we dodged that bullet, Motorplex management were in contact with the weather forecasters who said the first front changed directions but also said there was a bigger front 200km wide heading for us at the Motorplex
at 3.30 Motorplex management made the decision not to commence the meeting, we had very disappointed drivers, crews & families some had travelled from Geraldton, Karratha, Wickham, Broome and all over the southwest but whilst they were packing up their cars it started raining and got heavy for the next few hours, It didn't take long for most to realize it was the best option to postpone the event until the following Saturday being May 3rd.
So all drivers will go thru the same again all engines will be pumped to make sure they comply with LSA specs and be scrutineered by 3.30 and on the track by 4.00pm, weather looking promising it will be a great event to watch
