Krikke Boys Race March 2nd 2014 Wrap up

Wow what a weekend of speedway double header being the Southern Thunder series for the open sprintcars and the annual Krikke Boys Race we had the privilege of being a support division on the Sunday night, Krikke Boys Race is one of the most popular events on the Speedway calendar, with spectators coming from all over Australia for this great event to show support and remember Darryl and Jason Krikke who were tragically taken way to soon.

We had a great line up of our Drivers for the Krikke Boys event, 17 limited Sprintcars cars rolled up from all over Mick Doble from Geraldton Shannon Binns from Kojanup, Jim and Ben Chisholm from Ongerup, Daryl Borgas from Narrogin we had father and son team Shane and Steven Kendall from Perth, Benny Migro,Tony Pricilio, Greg Clarke,David Toovey,Brayden Miller, from Metro area Chris Dicker, Merv Woolford and Annette Crabbe from Mandurah and from Bunbury Gavin and Todd Davis.

Merv Woolford was unlucky to blow his motor during the hot laps.

Brayden Miller had engine and fuel problems, In true LSA spirit Big Jim Chisholm offered his car to Brayden for the night very kind gesture so Brayden didn’t loose points

The first heat saw Chris Dicker and Annette Crabbe of the front row and Chris Dicker took the lead finished first with Gavin Davis starting out in seventh finishing second and third was Steven Kendall.

Heat two saw Shannon Binns and Daryl Borgas on the front row Mick Doble came around from position three to take the lead and winning the heat Shannon Binns came in second followed by Greg Clarke in third.

Third heat saw two top drivers on the front row Gavin Davis and Mick Doble it was a great race and Gavin Davis took the win Mick Doble came in second and Benny Migro third.

Last heat on the night saw Todd Davis and Greg Clarke off the front row Tony Pricilio drove a great race to take the win Todd Davis second and Greg Clarke third.

The feature race saw Tony Pricilio off the front with Shannon Binns the race was going great but a unfortunate accident seeing Chris Dickers sprintcar going end for end and as it finished rolling it clipped Ben Migros wing and broke a strut and he was unable to finish the race, restart

Then saw Greg Clarke tag the fence and blew a tyre, the remainder of the race saw a lot of passing and great manoeuvres of quite a few competitors

Shannon Binns drove an awesome race and lead till the last 3 laps when Mick Doble and Todd Davis had been hunting him down and the race finally saw Mick Doble take the 20 lap event out with Todd Davis second closely followed by Shannon Binns for third  a great race to have watched.
